Over time, the effects of gravity, repeated facial expressions, and decreased skin elasticity can cause the eyebrows to droop, create a feeling of heaviness in the upper eyelids, and result in a tired appearance. Through endoscopic brow lift surgery, this tired look can be corrected, restoring a more refreshed and youthful expression around the eyes.
How is an endoscopic brow lift performed?
This procedure is performed using the endoscopic technique through small incisions hidden within the scalp. With the assistance of an endoscope, the course of the frontal branch of the facial nerve (temporal branch) can be clearly visualized and preserved, while the structures anchoring the brow are released. Compared to traditional methods, this approach allows for a more effective and longer-lasting lift.
Is there a risk of nerve injury?
Since the endoscopic brow lift is performed under direct visualization of the nerve, it offers a significant advantage in nerve protection. However, as with any surgical procedure, temporary nerve weakness or limited movement may occur in about 10% of cases due to tissue manipulation. This is typically temporary and resolves fully within 3 to 4 weeks.
